Ari - Birth - Year One

When Shannon and Jean-Paul asked me if I would photograph their son's birth, I instantly said "YES". I had hesitations but I didn't leave much time to think about it and bow out. I'm so glad that I didn't because it was truly unforgettable. I'm pretty sure I blacked out for most of it - hiding behind a cabinet, peeking out from my camera, but the parts I remember were indescribable. I saw unconditional love, I saw pain, I saw people helping... I saw Ari being born. It was a day I will always remember, and I feel blessed to have been allowed in on such an intimate moment. From Ari's first moments on this earth to his first year, I had the honour of capturing this lovely family and watching him grow. Happy Birthday, Ari !!! xo
